1) I have used 15% discounting coz thats what i am comfortable with, in case of Nesco..usually, i use 18-20% discounting..but in Nesco, the cash flow is more predictable, hence lower rate. (although one can argue that this is high too)..the purpose of taking a bit higher rate is to make the results of the calculation more conservative.
2) I cannot comment on Prof's logic..

Just going through your blog. I have a couple of questions:
1) Why have you used 15% discount rate - any justification?
2) Prof Bakshi has used 9% (aaa bond rate) for capitalization; however he has used 12% for bringing back to present value. Do you see any reason for this? He has not mentioned any reason for using 12%. I can understand 9% but not 12%.
Your response for the above separately for each query would be helpful.

IMHO, if one has to compare quarterly numbers, it has to be a like-to-like comparison. Compare the numbers with the same quarter of the previous financial year, not the preceding quarter. Thats a better way of comparing i think.
WRT Disa, i dont give a lot of importance to the quarterly performance. Its not a FMCG like company where there will be predictable growth every quarter. Performance is going to be lumpy, thats the nature of business..

No dividend declared for this q.

Another point to note, promoters now have ~86% holding in DISA

The details of application using ASBA will be given in the form, which you have to fill.
You have to submit the application with the designated bank, as given in the form, irrespective of whatever your own bank might be. I do not think there is a provision for online application. At least i have never done it..

Thats a fantastic idea DD..there are many such cases like Falcon, where the 'unfriendliness' of the promoters is not direct, hence difficult to ascertain. A database like this would be surely beneficial.

regarding circuit, the exchange adjusts the price post rights and then puts a 20% circuit on it. So ex-rights adjusted price of arihant would be 57-58, on which a 20% circuit is put.

In case of India Securities, regardless of the nature and type of the party, the basic modus operandi was the same..issue large number of shares to a a few institutions..later, they co-operate in delisting..there too, very few parties decided the fate of a large number of minority shareholders..of course, nothing illegal in it..
I hvnt seen Patni, so i dont really know.
